The Story of Masry Gems
I am Karim El Masry. Masry Gems bears my name – and every stone that leaves our house has passed through my hands.
I learned this craft where the stones come from: in Europe, the Middle East and the traditional gemstone centers of Asia. Not in trading houses, but from people who have been working with these stones for generations. How to judge color in daylight. How to recognize a treatment. This eye cannot be bought – it is only gained by holding thousands of stones in your hands.
It all began with a gift. I was looking for a piece of jewelry that exists only once. What I found had the price of luxury, but not its value. So I made it myself.
Today, every stone we offer is hand-selected. We buy on site and cut in our own workshop – if a customer wants a particular shape or a special play of light, we take the rough stone and cut it precisely to that. Some of our stones have been worn before. We acquire old rings, gently remove the stones from their settings and give them a second life in a new design. We work with natural gemstones as well as lab-grown diamonds – and explain the difference to you honestly. Every piece is created individually: one stone, one design, one owner. Our Treasures
Sapphire, ruby, emerald, tourmaline, amethyst, citrine, aquamarine – and on request almost any stone you can dream of. Through our own network, grown over many years, we also find rare stones, especially for your piece of jewelry.
Diamonds
Natural and lab-grown diamonds. Same chemical composition, same brilliance, different price. Every lab-grown diamond is clearly labeled as such by us – you decide, we advise you honestly.
Cuts
We stock finished cut stones and cut in our own workshop: brilliant cut, oval cut, emerald cut, radiant, marquise, cushion, cabochon – or a shape that has never existed before.
Precious Metals
Gold in 18 and 14 karat, in yellow, white and rose gold. Platinum on request. Every piece of jewelry is hallmarked with its fineness – as a seal of genuine quality.
